This blog is a way for me to document different (healthy, of course!) recipes that I create at home, as well as what I learn in regards to nutrition and overall well-being.

Over the past few years, I have been learning more and more about the short-term and long-term effects of food on our bodies.  I am fascinated by how much food can affect us, inside and out.  In the past, I never fully comprehended (or thought about) the expression “you are what you eat.” But the more that I learn about food, the more I discover just how true this expression really is.

Much of what I now know about health, nutrition and food (and much of what I am writing about in this blog), is thanks to the vast knowledge of one of my best friends, Mareill Kiernan.  She knows more about all of this than anyone I know, and if it weren’t for her, I probably would not be writing this blog in the first place. She has opened my eyes to foods and supplements I never even knew existed…explained to me the effects of various foods on our bodies…and encouraged me to question what I thought to be true about food and health.

I am keeping this blog partially for myself, so that I can remember all of the recipes that I create! But I also want it to be a way for me to spread the knowledge that I have learned to the rest of the world (or at least to you).  I hope you find it useful!
